The Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce and the Midlands Business and Education Alliance (MEBA) named IT-oLogy the 2011 Business Partner of the Year at the Annual Teacher Recognition Breakfast held on Friday at The Zone at Williams-Brice Stadium.
IT-oLogy received the Business Partner of the year award for promoting high academic standards, providing enlarged and enriched learning opportunities for students, supporting citizen-to-citizen understanding between schools and businesses and working to strengthen and support teacher effectiveness. This has been accomplished through public and private partnerships among companies across all industries, the K-12 school system and higher education institutions across the Southeast.
The Midlands Business Education Alliance works to connect students, parents, educators and employers to education and career opportunities in the Midlands through programs and partnerships of business, school, college, faith and other community leaders. MEBA fosters community collaboration between business and education to promote economic development and enhance the quality of life in the Midlands.
IT-oLogy works to advance IT talent from the classroom to the boardroom across the Southeast through three initiatives: Promote IT, Teach IT, Grow IT. It-oLogy introduces students to a broad range of opportunities available in IT, and works to ensure IT students and professionals are prepared for a career in IT. IT-oLogy is a program powered by the Consortium for Enterprise Systems Management, a collaboration of companies, organizations and academic institutions dedicated to growing the IT talent pipeline, fostering economic development and advancing the IT profession.
